“Soap, water and common sense are the best disinfectants.” William Osler
Everybody loves a good soap; soap is a symbol of purity. As soapmaking is a scientific process governed by physics and chemistry and involving imagination and aesthetics, it was only natural that olive oil soaps were the first of the products. Made using the traditional cold-process way so the valuable properties are retained, I use only the purest Australian olive oil and add other vegetable oils such as Hemp, Rice-bran, Coconut, Neem, Sweet Almond, Avocado, some butters (Shea and Cocoa), herbs, clays and essential oils. My soaps contain naturally occurring glycerine for a wonderfully luxurious silky feel. Naturally occurring glycerine makes the soap milder and more moisturising than regular commercial soaps, allowing the skin to breathe naturally.
My handcrafted soaps cleanse and tone the skin without causing dryness. People often complain to me about their dissatisfaction with certain soaps drying and irritating their skin. Many of my loyal customers suffer from common skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis and are amazed at how my soaps assist with softening and smoothing their skin, in some cases diminishing the occurrence of sensitiveness completely.
My soaps do not contain:
- Palm oil
- Petrochemical based soap colouring
- Fragrance oils
Fragrances in my soaps are achieved using essential oils. My colours are all achieved from vegetable sources and natural clays, or manipulating the temperature of oils and lye before mixing to get lighter or darker results.
